After coming from a guesthouse with not much service or
personal touch, this place was a total change for the good!
The location is just beautiful, our rooms were immaculate
with a nice view over the farm and surrounding mountains. We
were welcomed by Mareaze (such a lovely host) with coffee &
tea and some nice scones. Then we could use the bikes to
explore the lovely village and the wineries around the farm
of which La Motte did impress us the most! As we liked the
guesthouse, we decided to return early and spend some time
at the pool watching the sun go down with a complimentary
glass of nice wine and some olives. That really made our
day! Mareaze did organize a restaurant for us in the evening
including a pick up and drop off which was great as we could
both drink. The breakfast was just amazing; so much choice
and you should really try the fluffy omelette as that was
just divine. We were sad to leave already after only one
night and we definitly would have stayed longer if we could
have! We have already recommended this place to friends who
are going to South Africa next week and will keep on
recommending this place to anyone we talk to!

Beautiful
Fell in love with Goodings! Such a relaxing and
homely guesthouse. Located just outside the village. Perfect
base for all the vineyards and lovely views of mountains.
Our room was stylish and airy. Mareaze is a lovely host,
helpful and very friendly, will be recommending to friends
for their honeymoon - jealous I can't go with them!

“If you LOVE Olives - this is the Place for you!”
Wine, Cheese, Bread & Olives go hand & hand to me. Thus
this was the perfect place to stay at. The Guest house is
perfectly situated just outside of Franschoek, and right
next to the La Motte wine estate - which sets the benchmark
for wine tasting experiences! The Guest house is beautifully
decorated, rooms are spacious & comfortable - which worked
perfectly for us traveling with a toddler! The manager of
the guest house, Mareaze is a gracious hostess who went out
of her way to make sure we experienced the perfect "homely"
experience on the olive farm. Even offering to take our
toddler off our hands for 30 min to go feed the chickens! 30
min to mom & dad to relax is priceless!!! They also grow &
bottle their own olives, and as someone who really enjoys
eating & tasting different olives, these were DELICIOUS! We
definately wont hesitate recommending this place to anyone
traveling thru Franschoek!

Thank you so very much for our stay at your beautiful
home in the Cape…it was wonderful and so nice to be with the
family. You must be so happy with the way Goodings Grove has
turned out. Both our rooms were immaculate right down to the
very soft toilet paper the towels were fluffy and smelt so
sweet….

Fantastic venue for a corporate or business
intervention. The accommodation, meals, service and
attention
to detail make it ideal. Highly recommended!

Good times at Gooding’s Groves
From

However you choose to go about your wine tasting
experience, there’s a lovely little guesthouse that I
discovered on my latest stay in Franschhoek that sums up all
that’s great in the winelands – relaxation, natural beauty
and indulgence. Gooding’s Groves Olive Farm is situated just
outside town of Franschhoek in the foothills of the
Wemmershoek mountains and has views stretching both ways
into the valley. As the name suggests, the country-chic
styled farmhouse is nestled away among thick olive groves
which provide olive oil and jars of olives on your doorstep
– well, on your bed really, as a very welcome gift. The
eight spacious rooms are individually designed but are all
beautifully decorated. The focus is on light and airy, just
as bedrooms in the countryside should be. Pristine linen and
a white bath robe are indicators of the touches of quality
found all over this guesthouse in Franschoek....

"Thank
you for a wonderfully restorative time in this beautiful
retreat, I'll be back! Leigh, thank you for your TLC - you
are a warm and gentle person. Malcolm this is for you..."I
am the true vine, and my father is the gardener. He cuts
off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every
branch that does bear fruit, he prunes, so that it will be
even more fruitful..." (John 15:1-2) The image of you as
"father" of this homestead, cutting away rose bushesreally
spoke to me regarding what God has been doingin our lives.
Be Blessed!

"This last weekend in Franschhoek was magic! Goodings'
Groves was an absolute joy to stay in. Everything is
world-class - from the crisp bedding to the genuine coffee
and a selection of teas in the rooms. Every window in the
room is a picture from a coffee table book on Tuscany - your
views are spectacular! Your breakfast is perfect - fresh
fruit, real natural yoghurt, scrumptious omelette soufflé.
What more can I say? 10 out of 10!"
